There were three days of analyses, debates and forecasts, which ended on the 19th, of one of the most important sectors in the Brazilian economy. Fenabrave represents 8,523 car dealerships, light commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, motorcycles, tractors and road implements. Sales results have surprised and forecasts for the beginning of the year have been revised upwards.

equipment In the auto and light commercial segment alone, the growth was 18.7%: 1,726,644 units sold, against 1,454,044 in 2025. There was a strong movement of anticipation of purchases in the first half of the year by rental companies. The forecast now points to a smaller advance, of 8.8% at the end of the year, still a good result.
Arcélio dos Santos Júnior, president of the entity, recalled that government incentive programs offered better financing conditions, but have already been exhausted or benefited few new buyers among taxi drivers and app cars for registration reasons.
Of the total number of members, 1,380 dealerships represent 15 Chinese brands (so far, not counting the brief arrival of BAIC), 16.8% of the total. This rapid advance caused deflation in the prices of new and used cars, due to increased competition in the sector. “This is part of the business and has forced traditional brands in the market to move. The reduction in the prices of new ones was also reflected in used cars, which are below the Fipe table. But the sector is reacting well to this new challenge,” he added.
