Among so many SUVs that the Brazilian market does not stop receiving, there is still room for a niche in which GAC fits the GS9 Ultra well. 1.5 L turbo engine, gasoline, 160 hp, 21.4 kgfm and two more electric, with the front of 231 hp, 25.5 kgfm and the rear of 109 hp, 16.8 kgfm. There are 500 hp and 62,5 kgfm (there are doubts in the way the manufacturer calculates it), which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,9 s. Average range (urban/highway) in electric mode and 44.5 kWh battery is 114 km, Inmetro standard. In fact, it technically fits as electric with extended range by the combustion engine and also rechargeable in sockets.

On first contact, on a short 40 km route, the GS9 stood out for its silence and very good responses to the accelerator. At first, only the two electric motors and, if more demanded, the combustion engine act. In curves, the size and its high mass require attention, but without scares. Well-sized brakes for a vehicle of almost two and a half tons. Slightly firmer suspensions would be ideal.

Style preserves the traditional seven-slot grille, built-in headlights for greater protection (Matrix, in the more expensive versions), prominent bumpers and trapezoidal wheel arches. Optional electric sunroof, in the Longitude and Limited versions. The cabin features a panel with a pleasant texture and a very narrow multimedia center with a 10-inch screen. Walking silence is among its qualities, in addition to the adjustment of the suspensions with an excellent relationship between comfort and stability.
