Chery model has the size of a Ford F-150 and bets on 800V architecture; weight of 3 tons may require special CNH in Brazil
Chinese government documents have revealed the new Jetour F700, the plug-in hybrid pickup truck that takes over as the most powerful model ever manufactured by the Chery Group. The utility combines four electric motors with a combustion engine to deliver a combined power of 1,631 hp, positioning itself in a niche of extreme off-road high performance.
The mechanical configuration adopts an electric motor at each wheel, allowing individual torque vectoring to optimize cornering stability and increase traction on rough terrain. The system is assisted by a 2.0 turbo engine with 210 hp and 34,7 kgfm, which works in conjunction with a two-speed dedicated transmission (DHT). Thanks to the 800V electrical architecture, the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, supplied by CATL, can be recharged from 20% to 80% in about ten minutes.

With 5.49 meters in length and 3.35 meters in wheelbase, the pickup exceeds the dimensions of medium models such as the Toyota Hilux, entering the fray with full-size pickup trucks such as the Ford F-150. The curb weight of 3,009 kg ensures structural robustness, while the average consumption declared in the Chinese cycle reaches the mark of 71.9 km/l.

Internally, the F700 offers a choice of five seats or four high-luxury single seats. The model is part of the new “Zongheng” line, aimed at expedition vehicles, which will also include the G700 and G900 SUVs. The focus on technology is reinforced by high towing capacity and driving assistance systems adapted for off-road.
Although the launch in China will take place in the coming months, an eventual import to Brazil would require attention to the driver’s license. If the Total Gross Weight (GVW) exceeds 3,500 kg – a probable level given the base weight of 3 tons – the driver would need the National Driver’s License (CNH) category C, the same required for light trucks, due to the rules of the Brazilian Traffic Code.

During the Beijing Motor Show 2026, AutoPapo spoke with spokespeople for the brand, who confirmed the studies of a possible launch of the Jetour F700 in Brazil. The arrival of the hypersport pickup is evaluated as part of the expansion of the brand’s portfolio in the country. It is not known, however, if the imported version would be the most powerful of all.
