Audi has released the first official images of the unprecedented Q9, a model that will consolidate itself as the largest and most luxurious SUV of the German manufacturer. With a global launch scheduled for 2026, the vehicle takes over the top of the “Q” line with the mission of directly rivaling the Mercedes-Benz GLS in the large SUV market.

Although the photos still show the car under camouflage, the lines confirm the brand’s new visual identity for the segment. The rear section stands out for its split taillights connected by a continuous LED strip — a pattern similar to that adopted in the new Q3 — in addition to the illuminated Audi logo and large-diameter wheels that reinforce the vehicle’s robust size.

The external robustness is accompanied by technological innovations that are unprecedented in the range. The Q9 will be the first Audi equipped with an electric door opening system, which uses integrated sensors to identify side obstacles. The mechanism prevents opening if there is not enough space, in a solution designed to avoid damage to garages or tight spaces.

Inside, the model offers configurations for six or seven occupants, prioritizing the comfort of the second row. In the top versions, the SUV has individual seats equipped with electric adjustments, ventilation and massagers. The luxury package includes a panoramic sunroof with adjustable transparency and a Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system with speakers in the headrests, as well as high-capacity USB-C ports (100 W).

Although the final undisguised presentation is expected to take place in the coming months, the start of sales is scheduled primarily for the United States and Europe. Coming to Brazil is already part of the manufacturer’s strategic planning, consolidating the renewal of Audi’s premium portfolio in the country.
