Geely EX2 Max surprises car expert

Its best credential comes from China itself as the best-selling model, in the first half of this year, the world’s largest market. The medium hatch is spacious, has two trunks and production scheduled in Brazil for the end of the year, at Renault’s Paraná plant under the piece-by-piece import regime (it goes beyond a simple CKD). Its style pleases, although it does not stand out on streets and roads increasingly full of new models and dominated by SUVs and crossovers. Highlight for the design of the wheels and rear columns.

To energize the engine, simply step on the brake pedal. The vehicle can be moved forward or backward by moving the small lever on the center console from position “P” to “D” or “R” and accelerate. When you get out of the car, you return to the “P” position and just open the door. There is a nice interior decoration with stylized and illuminated building designs on the sides of the front doors and from edge to edge of the panel. There are few physical buttons. The 540º cameras of great resolution stand out.

14.7-inch multimedia screen is larger than that of other compacts. It includes Android Auto and Apple Car Play, however it requires a wired connection only and through the USB-A disuse process. For a second cell phone there is induction charging and via USB-C. Driver’s seat is electrically adjustable and in the rear seat legroom exceeds the average of compacts by 10 cm. Engine on the rear axle allows a second trunk, front, of 70 L (total: 461 L).

As with all electrics, silence and absence of vibrations are highlights. Direction shows adequate firmness. Flat floor rests those who travel behind. Good performance, without temptation to show it off as in other electric cars. Traveling depends on the pace and profile of the road, but you have to be very aware of the range and the charging network with its limitations.
