Group G of the Football World Cup is among the most varied in the lists of best-selling cars. Composed of Belgium, Egypt, Iran and New Zealand, it brings nations from four different continents and with different priorities in locomotion.

Belgium was once a major player in European industry, producing cars from Ford, Opel and Audi. But today only Volvo manufactures cars in the country, Audi ended its activities in 2025 and the others stopped earlier.

Despite Volvo’s local production, Belgians prefer to buy the BMW X1 made in neighboring Germany. The Bavarian brand’s entry-level SUV was the best-selling car in 2025.

Egypt

Do you remember the first Nissan Versa sold in Brazil? It is still in production in Egypt, with the name Sunny and using a 1.5 engine derived from the 1.6 we know.

Despite the gangly style, the Versa has always pleased for being very spacious and reliable. In 2025 the Nissan Sunny surpassed the Chevrolet T-Series pickup, which is an older Isuzu project that is also made locally.

Iran

Iran has a peculiar automotive industry that continues to function even though it is under international sanctions. Iran Khodro (IKCO) produces some models of its own design and others derived from Peugeot cars, the best seller is the 207i.

And it’s not the real 207 it had in Europe, it’s the restyled 206 that was created in Brazil. The engine is our old acquaintance 1.6 16v of 115 hp, which can come with a 6-speed automatic transmission. In the meantime, it gained some equipment such as a multimedia center, tire pressure monitor and cruise control.

New Zealand

The Toyota RAV4 is the best-selling SUV in the world, with 15 million units accumulated since its launch in 1994. It only did not appear in this series of articles because it was surpassed by pickup trucks in countries like the USA and Australia.

In New Zealand, the Toyota RAV4 leads and surpassed the Ford Ranger, which was the country’s best-selling vehicle for 10 years. The new generation debuted at the beginning of the year only with electrified versions, promising to maintain this result.
