Shortly after introducing the new XR300L Tornado, Honda announced the 2027 line of its engine sister, the XRE 300 Sahara. With a package of updates focused on safety, technology and chassis refinement, the main novelty is the adoption of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), a traction control system that now equips all versions of the trail.
In addition to the new electronic assistant, Sahara also debuts the HISS (Honda Ignition Security System), a coded key immobilizer system and an LCD digital panel with Optical Bonding technology, which significantly improves visibility in bright sunlight, and other novelties.
The line is still available in the Standard, Rally and Adventure versions, has undergone cycling changes in its structure, but maintains the same mechanics.

Arrival of traction control on Honda XRE 300 Sahara
The main advance of the 2027 line is the introduction of HSTC. The system monitors wheel rotation and reduces engine torque when it detects loss of rear wheel grip, increasing safety on slippery surfaces such as dirt, mud or wet asphalt.
Lighter chassis
While retaining the CRF 250F-derived chassis and long-travel suspensions, Honda has made minor changes to reduce unsprung weight.
The front suspension stem is now made of forged aluminum, a material also used in the rear suspension links. According to the manufacturer, the change contributes to more precise chassis responses.
Lighting of the 300 Sahara gets reinforcement
The lighting remains entirely LED, but now the front indicators remain on as position lights, increasing the visibility of the motorcycle to other vehicles. The Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) system, which automatically activates the hazard lights under sudden braking, remains standard.
Easier-to-read dashboard and new anti-theft system
The digital blackout panel uses Optical Bonding technology, which eliminates the air layer between the display and the protective glass, reducing reflections and facilitating the reading of information even under strong light.
Engine unchanged
Mechanically, the Sahara is equipped with the well-known single-cylinder four-valve OHC and 293.5 cm³, air-cooled and with FlexOne technology, capable of running on gasoline or ethanol in any proportion. Performance also remains: 25.2 hp with ethanol (24.8 hp with gasoline), at 7,500 rpm; 2,74 kgfm with ethanol (2,70 kgfm with gasoline), at 5,750 rpm.
Honda XRE 300 Sahara versions and availability
Honda reported that the XRE 300 Sahara 2027 arrives at Brazilian dealerships from the second half of August.
The motorcycle maintains a three-year warranty, with no mileage limit, in addition to the free Pro Honda oil program in the revisions provided by the manufacturer.
