Honda announced the 2027 line of the XR300L Tornado, this Thursday (23). The variant now has two important technologies for off-road riding and also safety, the disconnectable ABS on the rear wheel and the HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) traction control system. A new black color and technological innovations on the dashboard and electric controls complete the range of implements.
According to Honda, the new model will be available at dealerships from August, with a suggested price of R$ 31,700.
The main advance of the 2027 line is the adoption of the HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) system, an unprecedented feature in the Tornado. This technology is characterized by monitoring the rotation of the rear wheel and reducing the loss of grip during acceleration on slippery surfaces. Thus, traction control increases safety while riding and serves as an aid in driving.
For those who want to explore more technical trails, the system can be turned off.
Another important novelty for off-road use is the possibility of deactivating the ABS only of the rear wheel, a fundamental request for off-road since it allows controlled skidding and improves the control of the motorcycle on dirt, gravel and sand surfaces.
Dashboard, controls and anti-theft system have been updated
In addition to the changes in riding, Honda also promoted improvements in the electronic part of the motorcycle. The blackout LCD panel now uses Optical Bonding technology, which reduces reflections and significantly improves reading in bright sunlight.
The electric controls on the grips were inherited from the XRE300 Sahara and now include a hazard warning button. Security against theft was reinforced with the arrival of the HISS (Honda Ignition Security System) system, which prevents the engine from running without the original coded key.
Another change is in the front turn signals, which now remain on next to the position lights, increasing the visibility of the motorcycle during use. All lighting follows in LED.
Engine continues with 24.8 hp and six-speed gearbox
The mechanical assembly remains unchanged. The XR300L Tornado is still equipped with the 293.5 cm³ flex single-cylinder, air-cooled, with simple overhead control and four valves.
There are 24,8 hp with ethanol (24,3 hp with gasoline), both at 7,500 rpm, while torque remains at 2,74 kgfm with ethanol (2,70 kgfm with gasoline), delivered at 5,750 rpm. The gearbox is six-speed and is still equipped with an assist and slipper clutch.
The engine calibration remains different from that used in the XRE300 Sahara, favoring responses at low and medium revs, suitable for use off the asphalt. The final drive also remains shorter, using 14/40 teeth ratio.
Chassis part preserves DNA of the CRF250F
The Tornado’s structure remains based on the semi-enclosed double cradle chassis derived from the CRF250F, with long-travel suspensions and a focus on off-road riding.
New in the telescopic suspension with 41 mm and 245 mm of travel, which now uses forged aluminum tables, reducing weight. At the rear, the balance and links of the monoshock are also made of aluminum. The Metzeler Karoo Street tires continue to equip the factory model.
Colors and warranty of the Honda XR300L Tornado 2027
The Honda XR300L Tornado 2027 arrives at Brazilian dealerships in August 2026 and will be offered in the colors: Fighting Red (red) and Black (black)
The warranty remains for three years, with no mileage limit, with a free supply of Pro Honda oil in seven revisions, starting with the third maintenance.
