Volkswagen do Brasil reached, this week, a milestone of important symbolism at its plant in Taubaté (SP). In about a year of production, the Tera SUV reached the mark of 100 thousand units manufactured, signaling the rapid acceptance of the project in the regional market. Currently, the model occupies the second place in the SUV segment in the country, surpassed only by the “brother” of the T-Cross platform.
The production advance reflects the commercial performance of the vehicle: in March alone, almost 8 thousand units were registered and, in the first half of 2026, the model already has more than 18 thousand sales. In addition to the domestic market, Tera became the brand’s main export product in the year, with about 10 thousand units shipped to 18 countries in Latin America.

To sustain this volume, Volkswagen raised the project’s nationalization rate to about 80%, strengthening the network of local suppliers. The 1.0 TSI engine, which equips the main versions, delivers 128 hp and 20,4 kgfm, ensuring the balance between efficiency and performance required by the category.
Built on the MQB A0 modular platform, the Tera stands out for its technological package, which includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and adaptive speed control (ACC). The structure, composed of high and ultra-high strength steels, guaranteed the SUV the maximum rating of five stars in Latin NCAP tests.
