After consolidating Toyota’s sales leadership in Europe in 2025, with around 200 thousand units sold, the Yaris Cross received its first visual and technological update. The Japanese manufacturer’s move aims to sustain the model’s competitiveness in the fierce compact SUV segment, where it faces rivals such as the Renault Captur and the Volkswagen T-Roc.

Despite the same name, however, the utility from abroad is not the same as the one sold here, as it is built on another platform and with a different design. The main aesthetic change focuses on the front section. The new grille, with a honeycomb pattern and body-colored finish, aligns the design of the compact with the visual identity of the brand’s larger SUVs, such as the Corolla Cross and RAV4. The bumper has been redesigned with more sober lines, while the headlights preserve the original shape, but incorporate a new LED signature for the daytime running lights.

In the cabin, the Yaris Cross maintains the 12.3″ digital panel and the 10.5″ multimedia center, but bets on refinement. The top-of-the-line version introduces the “SakuraTouch” coating, a sustainable material produced from recycled and plant-based components. The convenience package has been expanded with the inclusion of electrically folding mirrors and wireless charging for smartphones from intermediate configurations.

Under the hood, Toyota maintained the strategy of full electrification for the European market. The Hybrid 130 version continues as the technical highlight, delivering 128 hp and 18,9 kgfm. There is also the entry-level Hybrid 115 option, with 116 hp and 14,4 kgfm. Both engines can be combined with front-wheel drive or intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD-i).

Safety has been enhanced with the update to the Toyota Safety Sense package. The system now includes braking assistant in maneuvers and improved blind spot monitor. According to the manufacturer, the model also received improvements in acoustic insulation to reduce vibrations on highways. The renewed line should reach European dealerships in the second half of this year.
