With 800V architecture and Baidu technology, ID. Unyx 08 marks German counteroffensive in the world's largest electric market
Volkswagen made official this Thursday (16), in Hefei, the launch of the ID. Unyx 08, an SUV that represents a strategic milestone for the automaker in China. The model is the first fruit of the technical collaboration with Xpeng, in a partnership established to accelerate the development of intelligent and connectable vehicles on Chinese soil, where local brands have imposed an aggressive pace of innovation.
The SUV hits the market in three trim configurations, with prices ranging from 229,900 to 289,900 yuan (about R$ 164 thousand to R$ 209 thousand, in direct conversion). Structured on an 800 V electric architecture, the vehicle promises to solve one of the main headaches of users: the recharging speed. According to the manufacturer, the system allows you to recover 150 km of range in just five minutes.

Visually, the ID. Unyx 08 breaks with the excessive sobriety of the European ID. line. The design displays more muscular lines, headlights composed of 400 LEDs and the brand’s unprecedented golden logo. With a length of 5.08 meters and a wheelbase of 3.03 meters, the model prioritizes interior space, offering a trunk that reaches 1,845 liters with the seats folded down.

The cabin is dominated by a 14.9″ multimedia center with 2.4K resolution, operated by Baidu’s artificial intelligence. In the mechanical part, the batteries supplied by CATL (82 kWh or 95 kWh) guarantee a range of up to 730 km in the Chinese cycle (CLTC). The top-of-the-line version, with all-wheel drive, delivers vigorous performance, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. The technological package is completed by adaptive air suspension and Level 2 autonomous driving systems, reinforcing the ID. Unyx 08 as the most advanced Volkswagen ever produced in China.
