The Renault Kangoo has consolidated in Japan a rare phenomenon for commercial vehicles: that of becoming a cult object. Far from the strictly professional image it carries in other markets, the French model is treated in the Asian country as a symbol of lifestyle and leisure. To fuel this demand, the brand announced the launch of the Couleur limited series, which bets on exclusivity and a visual narrative inspired by France.

The new edition will be limited to just 100 units, which will be distributed to buyers through a lottery system — common practice for high-demand vehicles in Japan. The visual highlight is the shade “Vert Forêt”, a deep green inspired by French forests. The catalog also includes the Grand Kangoo Couleur, which features the “Vert Paris” color options and the iconic “Jaune La Poste,” the yellow of the French post office.

Despite the sophisticated proposal, the model maintains an intentionally utilitarian look, with unpainted bumpers and black steel wheels, evoking a functional charm. However, the technology is updated with LED headlights and the Extended Grip system, which optimizes traction on low-grip terrain, aided by Michelin CrossClimate tires as standard.

Under the hood, the utility offers two engine options: the 1.3 turbo gasoline, which delivers 129 hp managed by a dual-clutch automatic transmission, and the 1.5 turbodiesel of 114 hp, the latter coupled to a manual transmission. While the standard 4.49-meter Kangoo seats five passengers, the 4.91-meter Grand Kangoo variant increases the capacity to seven occupants and offers an expressive 3,750 liters of cargo volume, while maintaining the practical sliding rear doors for easy access in dense urban centers.
