Nissan has unveiled the new generation of the X-Trail e-Power, featuring a complete restyling and evolutions to the electrified propulsion system. The model remains the automaker’s main strategy to act in the transition between combustion and pure electric vehicles, offering the driving experience of a battery vehicle without the need for external charging infrastructure.

Unlike conventional hybrid systems, in which the combustion engine can drive the wheels directly, e-Power technology uses electric motors to move the vehicle full-time. The set is equipped with a 1.5 turbo three-cylinder engine, with variable compression, which acts exclusively as a generator to power the lithium-ion battery. In the 2027 model, the e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system delivers 213 hp and 53,5 kgfm.

For the driver, the power delivery is instantaneous, characteristic of electric propulsions, while the gasoline generator comes into operation only to maintain the battery charge or supply peaks in energy demand. The sound insulation has been improved to reduce the perception of the operation of the combustion engine, reinforcing the silence on board. The design of the 2027 line adopts more angular lines and a new LED visual signature, aligning the utility with the brand’s latest aesthetic identity.

Although the new generation is scheduled to debut in the United States in early 2027, the schedule for the Brazilian market will follow a different path. Nissan has indicated that e-Power technology will arrive in Brazil at the end of 2026, but the system will be integrated into the current generation of the SUV, which recently underwent a facelift, and not the model recently unveiled abroad. In this way, the local consumer will have access to electrified motorization before the Americans, but with the visual package already known in the market.
