Nissan officially presented the second generation of the Kicks in Japan, with a different strategy from that adopted in Brazil, where the model debuted in 2025. While the Brazilian version uses a combustion engine, the Japanese version arrives exclusively with the e-Power hybrid system, offered in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations.

The set combines a 1.4-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, which works only as a 98 hp generator for the lithium-ion battery: the wheels are powered only by electric motors, in a hybrid that recharges itself, without the need for a socket. In the entry-level version, the front engine delivers 143 hp; the e-4ORCE all-wheel drive versions add a second rear electric motor, with 68 hp. According to the manufacturer, the new engine is more than 10% more efficient than the previous generation.

Visually, the Japanese Kicks maintains practically the same design as the national model. The differences appear in details such as transparent indicator lights and new color options for the bodywork, such as the Resonance Blue tone. The simpler versions receive textured plastic exterior finishes, while the top-of-the-line G configuration gains more elaborate LED lighting and 17″ diamond alloy wheels.

Inside, the biggest difference compared to the Americas model is the position of the steering wheel, on the right. The dashboard features two 12.3″ screens, in addition to items such as Zero Gravity seats, synthetic leather upholstery, 100 V outlet to power external devices and the ProPilot driving assistance package, depending on the version.

Adventurous version

The main novelty of the line is the arrival of the Rock Creek version. Developed by the Nissan Motorsports & Customize division, it bets on a more adventurous look, with silver grooves in the grille, black inserts in the bumper, aluminum-style sump guards and wheels of specific design. Inside, it has waterproof lining on the seats and lava red stitching.

The new Kicks is already on sale in Japan, starting at R$ 95 thousand (¥ 2,999,700), reaching R$ 135 thousand (¥ 4,248,200) in the top-of-the-line G configuration with all-wheel drive. The Rock Creek version is scheduled to debut in the coming months, with deliveries scheduled for the end of the year, and an estimated price between R$ 127 thousand and R$ 136 thousand (¥ 4 million to ¥ 4.3 million).
