BMW was spotted testing the production version of the Speedtop without camouflage, and the result is a model practically identical to the concept shown at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in 2025. At that presentation, the brand confirmed that the shooting brake would become a standard car, limited to only 70 units — all, it is believed, already reserved — at a price of more than R$ 2.9 million (€ 500 thousand).

An uncommon body on the market, the shooting brake is a kind of two-door sports station wagon, a format that BMW has been exploring in collector’s series. The Speedtop is born as a pair of the Skytop, a roadster also produced in a restricted run, and reinforces the brand’s strategy of offering exclusive models, made almost to order for selected customers.

Visually, the car maintains the main features of the prototype: the tapered headlights, the double grille with bright frames and horizontal bars — repeated on the air intakes —, the long hood and the sloping windshield, which drains into a low roofline towards the rear.

The side preserves the glazed greenhouse with a metal frame that integrates the door handle. The biggest apparent novelty is the wheels, different from those of the concept, which can be the definitive configuration or just temporary parts, still in the final stages of development. Before this undisguised spot, the model had already been seen running on the Nürburgring circuit.

At the rear, the changes are discreet: the model gained parking sensors and angular reflectors, as well as minor adjustments to the bumper and license plate area.

The interior was not photographed, but the expectation is that the cabin will start from the base of the BMW 8 Series, with nobler materials and exclusive finish. Among the planned differentials are leather upholstery on the headliner and in the luggage compartment.

BMW has not revealed the full specifications, but has confirmed that the Speedtop will use the most powerful V8 in its lineup. The bet is that it will share the mechanical set of the BMW Skytop, with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and 625 hp, associated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. If the configuration is confirmed, the performance should be similar to that of the convertible brother, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3,3 seconds.
