Hennessey presented the VelociRaptor Expedition, a prepared version of Ford’s large SUV that bets on robust looks and greater off-road capability. Unlike other projects of the North American preparer, known for their significant power gains, the novelty keeps the mechanical set of the version that serves as the base unchanged.

The SUV maintains the V6 EcoBoost 3.5 biturbo engine of the Tremor version, with 440 hp and 70 kgfm of torque. Instead of looking for more power, the preparer focused efforts on expanding off-road capability.

Among the modifications are the suspension raised by 51 mm, all-terrain tires mounted on exclusive 20-inch wheels, six-piston Brembo brakes, auxiliary lighting, steel skid plates, electric running boards and a redesigned front bumper. A carbon fiber air intake is also part of the package.

The result is an Expedition with a more aggressive appearance and posture similar to that of a pickup prepared for expeditions. Despite the name VelociRaptor, traditionally associated with Hennessey’s high-power models, there were no changes in the performance of the mechanical assembly.

Production will be limited, with each unit receiving a numbered plate and a warranty of three years or up to 58 thousand kilometers. In the United States, the model starts at US$ 129.950 (approximately R$673 thousand). Considering that the Expedition Tremor costs $81,700 before fees, Hennessey’s package adds more than $45,000 to the final price of the SUV.
