With electric and hybrid versions, GAC Hyptec S600 combines high standards with a wide range, which can reach 1,250 km in the REEV version
GAC has just introduced the Hyptec S600 in China. The model arrives to expand the Chinese manufacturer’s presence in the high-end electrified vehicle segment, betting on sporty design, embedded technology and a range that can reach up to 800 kilometers in the Chinese CLTC cycle.

With 5.01 meters long, 1.93 m wide, 1.70 m high and a wheelbase of 2.93 m, the S600 has a coupe style, elements that refer to Western electrics such as Porsche Macan and Ford Mustang Mach-E. The generous size allows a cabin focused on the comfort of the occupants, without giving up the sporty proposal evidenced by the body with lines inspired by coupe SUVs.

The look highlights aerodynamic elements, recessed door handles, large-diameter wheels and a set of lighting that runs along the entire rear. The light bar uses hundreds of LEDs and can display different animations and visual signatures. At the front, sensors, cameras and a LiDAR system indicate the presence of advanced driving assistance features.
Unlike the Hyptec HT, which is sold in Brazil, the S600 uses the “gull-wing” type rear doors to install a huge glass roof. The interior bets on a minimalist environment, with a compact digital panel, large multimedia center, head-up display and finish with metallic details. Rear seat passengers have backrests that recline up to 143 degrees and legrests, while the audio system has 22 speakers.

The range will feature fully electric versions and also an extended-range hybrid configuration. In electric models, the power reaches 250 kW, equivalent to 340 hp, while the autonomy varies between 660 and 800 kilometers. The variant with range extender uses a 1.5 turbo engine as an energy generator, expanding the travel capacity on longer trips, in the range of 1,250 km.
