Audi’s new supercar has Lamborghini’s V8 engine and almost 1,000 hp

The purist supercar pays homage to Tazio Nuvolari and brings 400 kg active aerodynamics accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds

Audi has unveiled the Audi Nuvolari, a high-performance hybrid supercar that doesn’t act as a direct replacement for the R8. Unlike its predecessor, which was positioned below Lamborghini models, the Nuvolari debuts in a more powerful and exclusive way.

The model inherits the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from the Lamborghini Temerário, capable of reaching 10,000 rpm and generating 789 hp. By adding three axial-flow electric motors, the set has a combined power of 987 hp.

Track performance and aerodynamics

Developed in secret, the supercar brings expressive performance figures. Going from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds and reaching a top speed of more than 350 km/h. In addition, this is the first Audi with a body made entirely of carbon fiber and forged aluminum wheels with central hub attachment.

The aerodynamic engineering features an “S” duct at the front and an active rear wing that generate up to 400 kg of downforce. The entire system is integrated into the suspension and traction through quattro predictive ride technology. The car features a 7.3 kW battery for 100% electric mode, in addition to Balanced, Dynamic, Dynamic Plus and Track modes, running on Bridgestone Potenza Race tires and ceramic brakes.

Exclusivity and purist cabin

The name abandons the brand’s traditional alphanumeric acronyms to honor the legendary Italian driver Tazio Nuvolari. Visually, the doors hide the door handles and the rear logo is inlaid in metal directly into the carbon fiber.

The interior follows a minimalist and uncompromising concept car proposal. The steering wheel has only physical buttons, there are no cup holders or storage compartments under the armrest, and the internal rearview mirror is a video screen, as the model does not have a rear window. Production will be strictly limited to 499 units, with a base price of US$ 686,613 (about R$ 3,5 million).
