National-entry SUV brings new safety to the brand's range; improvements in finishing also stand out
Chevrolet launched the new Sonic in two versions, Premier and RS. The price starts at R$ 129.990 in the Premier; the RS costs R$ 135.990. These values are promotional for the pre-sale.
Both versions share the 1.0 turbo engine with direct injection used by the Tracker. The power is 115 hp to fit the model into the Federal Government’s sustainable car program, and the torque is 18,9 kgfm. The only transmission option is the six-speed automatic.

SEE ALSO:
The Sonic is derived from the Onix, but differs from its brother by bringing a larger trunk, raised suspension, direct injection engine, ADAS package and improvements in finishing. Its positioning is between the Onix Activ and the Tracker.

Starting with the trunk, Chevrolet extended the floor and lid to increase volume. The Sonic has a capacity of 392 liters, far surpassing rivals VW Tera, Fiat Pulse and Renault Kardian.

Another highlight is the new ADAS package, which includes lane keeping assistant and autonomous emergency braking more comprehensive than the system used by the Tracker. It does not have adaptive cruise control or lane centering assistant.
Dimensions:

The equipment package of the two versions includes automatic air conditioning, seats with synthetic coating, six airbags, digital panel, multimedia center with wireless mirroring, OnStar, LED headlights with projectors, fog lights and ADAS package. The RS model adds front parking sensor and autonomous beacon assistant.
Chevrolet is already distributing Sonic to its dealership network. The entry-level SUV will also be sold in other South American countries.
