Caoa Changan surprises with CS55 PHEV and versions with prices starting at R$ 144.990

Caoa Changan has started sales of the CS55 medium SUV in Brazil in three versions and two engine options: the 1.5 Turbo TGDI Flex and the plug-in flex hybrid (PHEV). The model marks the world launch of the Chinese brand’s plug-in flex hybrid technology and now occupies the position of the company’s highest volume vehicle in the country.

Engine

The 1.5 Turbo TGDI Flex engine of the Caoa Changan CS55 delivers 180 hp of power and 29,2 kgfm of torque, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8,1 seconds. The homologation data records gasoline consumption of 10,4 km/l in the city and 12,1 km/l on the highway. It uses a seven-speed dual-clutch automated transmission.

Disclosure
The plug-in hybrid configuration of the Caoa Changan CS55 combines the 1.5 Turbo Flex engine with an electric motor coupled to the DHT transmission. The combined power is 286 hp and torque of 47,0 kgfm, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7,2 seconds and total declared range of up to 1,200 km. The range in 100% electric mode has not been disclosed, but the battery has a capacity of 18,4 kWh.

Caoa Changan pointed out that in urban use, the CS55 PHEV is optimized to work in purely electric mode at speeds of up to 70 km/h.

Dimensions

The Caoa Changan CS55 is 4.55 meters long, 1.86 m wide, 1.67 m high and has a wheelbase of 2.65 meters. The trunk has a capacity of 525 liters – with the rear white folded down it reaches 1,415 l.

The suspension is independent on all four wheels – McPherson at the front and Multilink at the rear. The brake is disc on all four wheels. All versions of the model are equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels.

The wheels of the Infinity and PHEV versions receive a two-tone diamond finish, while the Prime receives a Gloss Black finish. The Pirelli 225/55 tires
