Pricing

- MG4 Urban Comfort: BRL 129.990
- Geely EX2 Max: BRL 136.800
The MG4 Urban is priced at R$ 129.990, but it is a launch value without a fixed deadline. The brand did not disclose what the “full” value is after this offer passes.
The Geely EX2 Max was launched for R$ 135 thousand, but now has a fixed value of R$ 136.800. As long as MG Motor’s offer stands, it wins in this regard.
Winner: MG4 Urban Comfort.
Autonomy

- MG4 Urban Comfort: 299 km
- Geely EX2 Max: 289 km
This duo is the most efficient in the entry-level electric car segment. The Geely EX2 Max has a 39.4 kWh battery and achieves 289 km of autonomy in the Inmetro cycle.
The MG4 Urban Comfort comes with a 42.8 kWh battery and achieves 299 km. In the top-of-the-line version, there is a larger battery, with an additional 50 km of range.
Winner: MG4 Urban Comfort
Recharging power

- MG4 Urban Comfort: 11 kW (AC) 82 kW (DC)
- Geely EX2 Max: 6.6 kW (AC) 70 kW (DC)
During a trip, recharging power is decisive in reducing the time spent waiting still. The MG4 Urban manages to be more powerful in both slow (alternating current) and fast (direct current) recharging.
Winner: MG4 Urban Comfort
Performance

| Car | Power | Torque | Zero to 100 km/h |
|---|---|---|---|
| MG4 Urban Comfort | 150 hp | 25.5 kgfm | 9.6 s |
| Geely EX2 Max | 116 hp | 15.3 kgfm | 10.2 s |
Despite the advantage of 34 hp and 10,2 kgfm, the difference in performance between the MG4 Urban and the rival is not that big. The Geely EX2 compensates for the less powerful engine with a weight 142 kg lower and rear-wheel drive, which helps with starts.
Winner: MG4 Urban Comfort
Equipment

The MG4 Urban Comfort is the entry-level version of the model, so it owes some equipment. However, the brand already brings it with the complete ADAS package, the differences to the Luxury model are bosses such as the 360° camera, rear speakers, heated seats and steering wheels, electric adjustment in the driver’s seat, 17-inch wheels, induction charger and folding mirrors. See the main standard equipment:
- Full-LED headlights;
- Digital panel with 7-inch screen;
- Multimedia center with 12.8-inch screen with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay;
- One-pedal driving mode;
- Automatic air conditioning;
- Ventilation outlet for the rear seat;
- Exterior mirrors with defogging;

The Geely EX2 Max is the top-of-the-line model of the compact and puts up a good fight against the entry-level MG4 Urban. The result here will be in detail, see the highlights of the model:
- Full-LED headlights;
- Air conditioning;
- Digital panel with 8.8-inch screen;
- Multimedia center with 14.6-inch screen and wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay;
- Sound system with four speakers and two tweeters;
- Electronic parking brake;
- 360° camera;

The Geely EX2 Max took advantage here by bringing some very practical convenience items, such as the 360° camera, the more complete sound system and the electric seat adjustment. Both sin in not offering the spare tire.
Winner: Geely EX2 Max.
Interior space and trunk

The medium hatchback size of the MG4 Urban makes it stand out among the compacts in this segment. Its 4.39 m in length surpasses some compact sedans and the 2.75 m wheelbase is longer than that of the Toyota Corolla. The Geely EX2 also accommodates passengers well thanks to the rear-wheel drive platform.
As for the trunk, the MG4 Urban has a 477-liter compartment, a volume similar to that of a Renault Duster. However, this number includes the space under the floor.
The Geely EX2 has a 375-liter rear trunk, which is large for a hatchback, plus a 70-liter front trunk. Their sum results in 445 liters, losing by a small margin to the rival.
Winner: MG4 Urban Comfort.
Dealerships

Geely is in Brazil working together with Renault and owns 26% of the French brand’s Brazilian operations. This means that the distribution infrastructures for cars and parts are shared. It currently has 40 dealerships in the country.
MG Motor, on the other hand, debuted on its own, represented by the Saic headquarters. Its dealership network has 28 points and the brand estimates to reach 40 by the end of the year. For now, Geely is in a better situation.
Winner: Geely EX2 Max.
Warranty
There is a fight among Chinese brands to see who offers the greatest guarantee. But each one has its own strategy, being able to prioritize time or mileage — in addition to the commercial use factor.
| Warranty | MG4 Urban | Geely EX2 |
|---|---|---|
| Car | 7 years or 150 thousand km | 6 years or 150 thousand km |
| Commercial | 7 years or 150 thousand km | 2 years or 150 thousand km |
| Battery | 8 years or 160 thousand km | 8 years or 150 thousand km |
| Commercial | 8 years or 160 thousand km | 8 years or 150 thousand km |
The 7-year warranty for the MG Motor car is the longest in the segment, but in mileage it ties with Geely. The batteries have an additional 10 thousand km of coverage. The great advantage of the model is that it does not change the coverage for those who make commercial use of the vehicle.
Winner: MG4 Urban Comfort
Winner

The MG4 Urban Comfort won in practically all aspects of this dispute. The Geely EX2 took advantage only in the equipment package and in the dealership network.
However, it was a very close dispute, they are equivalent in many points. But as it is necessary to define a winner, the MG4 Urban Comfort took the trophy for best electric hatch in the range of R$ 130 thousand.
