BMW Motorrad reached an important milestone in its trajectory in Brazil by producing the 150,000th motorcycle at the Manaus (AM) plant. The feat comes in the year that the unit completes a decade of operation, consolidating its position as the manufacturer’s only plant dedicated exclusively to the production of motorcycles outside Germany.

The model that symbolizes the historic brand is a BMW R 1300 GS Adventure Triple Black, a top-of-the-line version of the manufacturer’s big trail.

Since its inauguration in 2016, the factory has received continuous investments in technology, modernization of the assembly line, sustainability and qualification of the workforce. Currently, the unit produces 13 models for the domestic market, following the same global production standards as the German headquarters.

According to BMW Motorrad, over the last ten years the plant has undergone structural expansions, incorporated new industrial equipment and strengthened its local supply chain, also contributing to the generation of jobs in the Amazon region.

“Celebrating 10 years of operation would already be an extraordinary milestone, but reaching the mark of 150 thousand motorcycles produced at this same moment makes everything even more special. This shows that our plant has reached its operational, technological and human maturity,” said Alex Donatti, director of the BMW Group Plant in Manaus.

The executive also highlighted that the result reflects the company’s commitment to the Brazilian market and the work carried out by the team over the last decade.

The motorcycle chosen to represent the milestone is equipped with the most powerful boxer engine ever produced in series by BMW Motorrad. The engine delivers 145 hp of power and 15 kgfm of torque, accompanied by an aluminum fuel tank with a capacity of 30 liters.

Among the highlights is the Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) system, which electronically adjusts the damping and stiffness of the springs in real time, in addition to the automatic height adjustment feature, which reduces the suspension by up to 30 mm when the motorcycle is stationary or at low speeds, making it easier to support the feet on the ground.

The equipment list also includes adaptive cruise control (ACC), forward collision warning (FCW), lane change assistant and seven riding modes, including Eco, Rain, Road, Enduro and Dynamic.

Another differential is the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), an optional system that automates clutch actuation and gear changes, allowing you to switch between fully automatic driving or manual shifts without a clutch lever.
