New Song Pro DM-i Flying Edition bets on greater electric range and technology to react to falling sales
BYD has started sales of the BYD Song Pro DM-i Flying Edition in China, a new variant of the plug-in hybrid crossover that arrives with improvements in efficiency and onboard technology. The model starts at 102,900 yuan (about R$ 75 thousand), before local incentives.
The SUV maintains the look and dimensions of 4.73 m long, 1.86 m wide, 1.69 m high and 2.71 m wheelbase, with configuration for five occupants. Inside, the highlight is the 15.6-inch floating multimedia center, while the gear selector remains positioned behind the steering wheel.

Among the novelties, the model comes standard with the DiSus-C adaptive damping system, which adjusts stiffness in milliseconds to reduce body inclination and improve stability. There is also electronic control aimed at driving at high speed, which acts in an integrated way in traction and braking.
The Flying Edition is integrated into driving, which incorporates the DiSus 100 system, capable of operating the assisted navigation function (NOA) on highways. Optionally, the model can receive the DiPilot 300 package, based on LiDAR, which extends the system’s performance to urban roads and adds support for more than 300 parking scenarios.
Under the hood engine is a 1.5 combustion engine of 99 hp with a 161 hp electric motor, both acting on the front axle. The LFP batteries have capacities between 26.6 kWh and 34.27 kWh, guaranteeing an electric range of between 220 and 301 km in the Chinese CLTC cycle, an increase of up to 33.3% compared to the previous model. Average combined consumption is 3.2 l/100 km.
The Song Pro DM-i Flying Edition is offered in four versions, with prices reaching 132.900 yuan (approximately R$96 thousand). The new configuration comes amid the retraction in sales of the line in the Chinese market.
