Lepas L6 SUV will have hybrid and electric versions with a focus on the premium market; UK launch is slated for late 2026.
Lepas, Chery International’s new high-end electrified vehicle brand, has made its arrival in the European market official with the global presentation of the L6 SUV. Unveiled during Milan Design Week, the midsize SUV marks the beginning of a global offensive that will have Brazil as one of its main commercial destinations starting next year.
The model bets on a diversified propulsion strategy to win over the continent’s consumer, offering both an all-electric variant and a self-charging hybrid (HEV) configuration. The version equipped with the “Super Hybrid” system combines a 1.5-liter combustion engine with an electric unit, promising a total range of more than 1,100 km — a mark that aims to reduce dependence on charging infrastructure on long-distance journeys.

In the 100% electric configuration, the L6 uses a 67 kWh battery that provides an estimated range of 434 km, following European cycle standards (WLTP). One of the competitive differentials lies in the charging speed: the vehicle supports fast recharges of 190 kW, allowing the energy level to be raised from 30% to 80% in about 20 minutes.
Aesthetically, the L6 adopts the “leopard in motion” design philosophy, with flowing lines and LED lighting that give an aggressive and dynamic look to the whole. Inside, the premium appeal is reinforced by a 15.6″ multimedia center with 2.5K resolution, a Sony sound system with 16 speakers and state-of-the-art driving assistance features.
Lepas, whose name derives from the English term “Leap”, positions the L6 as a direct competitor in the saturated electrified SUV market, trying to balance energy efficiency with affordable luxury. Although the final prices for the European market have not yet been defined, Chery indicates that the SUV will be the fundamental pillar to consolidate the manufacturer’s image as a sophisticated alternative to traditional brands in the region.
