Jeep has registered the current generation of the Cherokee in Brazil with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), raising expectations for a possible return of the SUV to the domestic market. The model has been sold in the United States since 2025 and was one of the brand’s attractions during last year’s Auto Show.

Although the registration does not officially confirm the arrival in the country, it protects the vehicle’s design and is usually an indication of commercial interest. In the new generation, the Cherokee starts to use Stellantis’ STLA Large platform and takes a position above the Compass and Commander in the brand’s lineup.

The model measures 4.77 meters in length, 2.12 meters in width and 2.87 meters in wheelbase, being about 15 centimeters larger than the previous generation. The look follows the latest Jeep standard, with straight lines and LED light signature.

The main novelty is in the hybrid engine. The model combines the 1.6 turbo THP engine with two electric motors and continuously variable transmission, forming a full hybrid system without external recharging. The combined power is 213 hp and 31,8 kgfm of torque.

According to Jeep, the Cherokee can exceed 800 km of autonomy, with average consumption of 15.7 km/l. The brand also reports acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h in 8.3 seconds.

Although there is still no official confirmation about the sale in Brazil, the current scenario increases the chances of the Cherokee’s return. Jeep has historically maintained a model positioned above the Compass and Commander line in the country.
