Compact sedan gains a more aggressive front end and interior updates that should reach the Brazilian market in the second half of 2026
The new Honda City 2027 was photographed without camouflage in India, which revealed in advance the aesthetic updates of the model a few days before its global debut, scheduled for May 22. The Japanese automaker bet on a more aggressive front design for the compact sedan, seeking to align it with the brand’s new standards. As test vehicles are already circulating in Brazil, the expectation is that the renewed version will arrive at dealerships in the country in the second half of 2026, with an initial focus on the sedan body instead of the hatchback.

The redesign of the front drew inspiration from the Prelude coupe. The model features a more pronounced front overhang and honeycomb grille, which now features a darkened aspect ratio to form a continuous line with the air intake. The Honda logo has been moved to the area below the hood, while the new full LED headlights have gained pointed contours integrated into a luminous fillet.

The side silhouette remains unchanged, but the sedan receives new 16″ wheels. The rear gains a more prominent bumper and taillights with translucent lenses. According to the Indian press, the redesign of the ends increased the length by three centimeters, totaling 4.57 meters. The width, height and wheelbase of 2.60 meters were maintained. The trunk preserves the 519 liters of capacity, a volume higher than that of medium sedans such as the Toyota Corolla (470 liters).

Inside, the cabin features new upholstery, with unprecedented textures on the seats of the more expensive versions. The modernized panel houses a 10.25″ multimedia center and ambient lighting system. The center console has been redesigned to incorporate commands such as the 360º camera and ventilated seats.
As it is a restyling, the mechanical set does not change: the sedan maintains the 1.5-liter aspirated engine with direct injection, generating 126 hp and 15,8 kgfm, managed by the CVT gearbox that simulates seven gears. The e:HEV flex hybrid engine will not be offered in the City line, being restricted to the HR-V SUV from 2028.
To remain competitive, the sedan had the package of items reinforced since the entry-level LX version, which now has a face-to-face key and push-button start. The Honda Sensing driving assistance system, which includes autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, remains the main attraction in safety. City’s current values range from R$ 117,500 to R$ 153,200 in Brazil, a range that will serve as a positioning parameter for the 2027 catalog.
