GWM presented in China the Wey V9X SUV, a six-seater luxury model focused on the integration of artificial intelligence and electrification. The vehicle debuts in the Asian market in three plug-in hybrid versions, with prices starting at 349,800 yuan (a figure that is equivalent to approximately R$ 258 thousand in direct conversion).

The V9X marks the debut of the Global One S platform in series production. The group’s new architecture was developed specifically to incorporate native artificial intelligence solutions and electrified mechanical assemblies. The manufacturer’s schedule foresees the expansion of the portfolio later this year with the arrival of conventional hybrid and 100% electric variants.

Under the hood, the SUV is equipped with the Hi4 hybrid system, combining a 2.0 turbo engine with an 800-volt electric architecture. The set allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than five seconds. Powered by batteries of up to 80 kWh, the utility reaches 470 kilometers of autonomy in purely electric mode, according to the Chinese CLTC cycle. With the joint operation of the engines, the total range jumps to 1,700 kilometers.

The commercial strategy for the premium segment includes offering two wheelbase options. The standard configuration is 5.20 meters long and has a wheelbase of 3.05 meters. The extended variant grows 84 millimeters in length and 100 millimeters in wheelbase, prioritizing comfort in the rear. Both maintain the same 2.02 meters wide and 1.82 meters high.

In the cabin, the technological package includes panoramic screens integrated into the dashboard and seats with a “zero gravity” function. The vehicle dynamics are supported by dual-chamber air suspension and steering rear axle, standard items aimed at improving stability in curves. In safety, assisted driving adopts artificial intelligence to map risks and displays, in real time, the decision-making logic of the sensors, increasing the driver’s predictability during autonomous driving.
