Model arrives on the Brazilian market in 2027 with an unprecedented seven-seat option and architecture prepared to receive hybrid and electric engines
Fiat has confirmed the launch of the one that will probably replace Pulse and Fastback in Brazil. It is the new Fiat Grizzly, a global model presented to Stellantis investors during the strategic plan this week. The new project provides for two body options: a compact SUV and a slightly larger coupe SUV, exactly as in the national duo.
The strategy was even born in Brazil and has as its main objective to unify the Italian automaker’s portfolio offered in Europe and South America. The technological pillar of this transition is the adoption of the Smart Car modular platform, the same architecture already used in recent launches by Peugeot, Citroën and the Jeep Avenger. In the Brazilian market, Fiat will debut this new structural base in 2026, along with the arrival of the new generation of Argo.

The move could officially end the end of life of the MLA platform. With the new structural base, the automaker promises to correct technical limitations that generated criticism in current local projects, such as the restricted space in the second row of seats and vehicle dynamics. In addition, as Fiat sells about 1.4 million vehicles globally per year, the standardization of the platforms allows for a drastic dilution in research and development costs, a vital asset in the face of the current price war promoted by Asian competitors.
The offer of versions will have regional adaptations. In the European market, the traditional Grizzly configuration will be focused on family transport, offering up to seven seats, while the Fastback model will appeal purely to aesthetic sportiness. In Brazil, the direct replacement for the Pulse can preserve the traditional five seats. However, the domestic market will also be contemplated with a seven-seat variant to complement the brand’s range of passenger utility vehicles.
Although the mechanical data have not been detailed, it is known that the new architecture is born ready for the energy transition. The model supports everything from combustion engines associated with mild hybrid systems (MHEV) to 100% electric sets. The launch of the Fiat Grizzly in the European market is expected to take place in 2026, with landing on Brazilian soil scheduled for the following year.
