Jac Caminhões has already started distributing the first units to arrive in Brazil to the dealership network, which has 30 stores from 15 different groups in the main urban centers. The company’s general director, Miguel Xun, says he also plans to produce the vehicles in the country under the SKD regime.

The brand’s plans also include the implementation of engineering and product development for the domestic market. The investment figures were not disclosed, only that they will be significant.

The trucks use traditional suppliers to give credibility, such as Cummins engines and ZF, Eaton and Fast Gear transmissions. The initial line has light and heavy models, ranging from 9 to 25 tons of total gross weight (GVW).

Jac is now China’s largest exporter of light trucks. It is already present in other Latin American countries, such as Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Peru and Mexico.
