Ford expanded the Ranger line in Brazil with the arrival of new versions aimed at work. The main novelty is the XL single cab version, with a starting price of R$ 256.600. The novelty, which was already scheduled to arrive in the second half of the year, coincides with the excellent moment of the pickup, which surpassed the sales of the Toyota Hilux in July. It was the first time in 48 months that the Japanese pickup truck had stepped off the podium.

With its chest puffed out, Ford wants to take advantage of the good moment and expand the Ranger’s offer. In its derivation, the single cab maintains basically the same configuration as the chassis version and will be offered with a Panther 2.0 turbodiesel engine with 170 hp and 41,3 kgfm of torque, with a choice of manual or six-speed automatic transmission, in addition to 4×4 traction.

Among the highlights of the single cab version is the load capacity of up to 1,223 kg in the manual configuration. The volume of the bucket jumps to 1.6 thousand liters.
Contents of the Ranger single cab
In the equipment package, the Ranger single cab offers items such as seven airbags, autopilot, SYNC 4 multimedia center with 10-inch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 8-inch digital panel, electronic stability control, ramp start assistant and automatic downhill control. It also has 16-inch steel wheels, all-terrain tires, locking rear differential and electric steering.

Connectivity is another highlight point. Ranger XL offers features from the Ford app and the fleet monitoring portal, with information on vehicle performance, maintenance, consumption and operation.
However, the version gives up any and all items that are not mandatory, or that could compromise the scale of production. It does not offer fog lights, running boards, reversing camera or parking sensors, as well as bucket and marine hood protectors. These are items that can be purchased as an accessory. It even makes use of the electric adjustment of the mirrors. There’s not even that internal lever. To adjust the mirror has to be in “digital” mode, at your fingertips.
Ranger XL Prices
In the price list, the Ranger XL Chassis Cab starts at R$ 248.600 in the manual version and reaches R$ 258.600 with automatic transmission. The Single Cab costs R$ 256.600 in the manual option and R$ 266.600 in the automatic one. The Double Cabin has prices between R$ 272.600 and R$ 282.600, depending on the transmission.
