Grand prize for the winner of BBB 26 was the recently launched plug-in hybrid SUV that is scheduled for national production
Journalist Ana Paula Renault was the winner of BBB 26. One of its awards was the recently launched Geely EX5 EM-i, a medium plug-in hybrid SUV that is confirmed to be produced in Brazil.
Geely bought 26% of Renault do Brasil to be able to enjoy the entire infrastructure of the French brand in Brazil. Vehicle and parts distribution network, inventories and the factory located in São José dos Pinhais (PR) are part of this agreement.

The Geely EX5 EM-i had its production in Brazil confirmed in November 2025, during the Motor Show. During the launch of the model, it was revealed that production will start in the second half of 2026.
Despite also being called EX5, the EM-i hybrid model is a different car to the electric EX5. Only the platform is shared, but even the measurements are different.
The Geely EX5 EM-i is sold in three versions: Pro, Max and Ultra. The car is sold at promotional prices during launch. After the end of this promotional lot, the values will rise by R$ 10 thousand.
All versions combine a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric one. Together they deliver 262 hp and 38,7 kgfm, which drive the front axle. In the Pro and Max versions the battery pack is 18.4 kWh, while in the top Ultra the capacity is 29.8 kWh.
This affects the autonomy more, which is 65 km in electric mode and 1,245 km in combined mode in the entry-level models. At the top of the line it is 112 km and 1,300 km respectively.

The target of the Geely EX5 EM-i is the BYD Song Pro, which is already assembled in Brazil under SKD regime. The equipment package is well stuffed to justify this.
All models come with a 15.4-inch multimedia center, digital panel, connected services, 6 airbags, ADAS package, front and rear parking sensors, 540° camera and premium sound system with 16 speakers.
In the Max and Ultra models, the heads-up display and 15 W induction charger are added. Only at the top of the line is there the option for a light brown interior.
Ana Paula Renault was the first person to receive a Geely EX5 EMi-i. The car is in the pre-sale phase, with sales starting later this week.
