Yamaha has significantly reduced the price of its Neo’s Connected electric scooter in Brazil. The model, which was announced in the national market at the end of 2024 for R$ 33.990, now costs R$ 25.990 – a drop of R$ 8 thousand in the official value.

This is the first relevant adjustment of Yamaha Neo’s Connected since the arrival of the model in the country.

According to the specialized website Motoo, which first reported the change in the manufacturer’s line up, Yamaha said that the price adjustment is permanent and is not about any kind of promotion or special condition.

Pricing Strategy Motivation

Although there is no official statement from the brand about the motivation for the price reduction, everything indicates that the law of supply and demand has knocked on the Japanese company’s door.

According to the monthly report of the registration ranking of the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave), Yamaha does not rank among the major traders of electric motorcycles in the country. Since the beginning of the year, the manufacturer has not stood out once among the top 15 brands that have sold the most in the country.

  • The low public adhesion in the electric category goes against the combustion category, where Yamaha is the second largest brand in the country.

It is not known for sure how many Yamaha Neo’s Connected motorcycles have been registered in Brazil since the arrival of the model, but from what the Ranking indicates, certainly less than 34 motorcycles have been licensed by buyers since then.

Even with the price reduction, Neo’s Connected remains the most expensive electric motorcycle in Brazil. The improvement in sales of the renowned Japanese company will depend on the Brazilian finding out whether or not the model is now worth it.

Full recharge takes about 9 hours, while the time from 20% to 80% is approximately 5 hours. The autonomy can reach up to 71 km, according to the WMTC standard, varying according to use.

The model also has two riding modes (STD and ECO), a 100% digital LCD panel and features that monitor the battery charge level and vehicle status in real time.
