Launched in 2017 as the first KTM equipped with the LC8c parallel twin-cylinder engine, the 790 Duke has become a benchmark among medium-capacity naked bikes on the market. Now the model arrives in the 2027 line with significant changes, bringing together a new design, improvements in ergonomics, weight reduction and improvements in the chassis set.

The look has been completely renewed and now follows the identity of the KTM 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke R. The naked gained a new optical set, redesigned front fairing, remodeled tank and more aggressive lines.

The engine continues to be the well-known 799 cm³ LC8c parallel twin-cylinder, now homologated to meet the EURO 5+ standard, maintaining 105 hp in the conventional version and 95 hp in the simplest configuration. The model also debuts a new exhaust system.

The main evolution is in ergonomics. KTM has reworked the riding triangle with new handlebars, repositioned footpegs and revised seat, promising a more natural position and greater connection between rider and motorcycle. Despite the more robust appearance, the 790 Duke was 2 kg lighter.

The chassis set also received new features, including WP steering damper, new radial brakes developed by the brand itself and updated WP APEX suspension, with simplified adjustments to facilitate adjustments.

Another change meets the requests of owners: KTM eliminated the “Demo Mode” from future models in the line and started to equip the motorcycle with factory Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires.

The KTM 790 Duke 2027 arrives at the brand’s European dealerships from the end of July, with availability varying by market. Prices or arrival information in other countries have not yet been released.

As much as KTM has recently announced a new phase in Brazil, it is unlikely that the model will come this year, since the brand has already announced three motorcycles to be launched by the end of 2026.
