Austrian brand confirms arrival of the unprecedented 390 Adventure X and R, the 790 Adventure R and a new line aimed at off-road use
Bajaj recently announced that it will control KTM’s operations in Brazil. For consumers, however, the main novelty is the arrival of new models in the national market. The Austrian brand has already confirmed the launch of the KTM 390 Adventure X, 390 Adventure R and 790 Adventure R. Of these, the two versions of the 390 Adventure will be the first to land at dealerships, scheduled for launch in the third quarter of 2026.
The new KTM 390 Adventure R and 390 Adventure X share the same mechanical platform. Both use a 399 cm³ single-cylinder engine, capable of delivering 46 hp of power, associated with a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycles also weigh 165 kg in running order, reaching 176 kg fully fueled.

Despite the common base, the two versions have very different proposals. The 390 Adventure R is the option most focused on off-road use. The model has fully adjustable long-travel WP suspensions, as well as spoked wheels of 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear, a traditional configuration to face more demanding trails and terrain.
The 390 Adventure X uses the same mechanics as the R version, but bets on a more urban and travel-oriented proposal. For this, it receives simpler suspensions and 19-inch wheels at the front and 17 inches at the rear, in addition to a setup focused on comfort in road use and on light dirt roads.
In terms of technology, both motorcycles have riding modes and an electronic set developed to expand the versatility of the model in different conditions of use. Depending on the version, there may also be the presence of a bidirectional quickshifter.
The arrival of the new 390 Adventure family came shortly after the officialization of the Chinese CFMOTO in Brazil. The brand that had already been promising its models brought the darling Ibex 450, which is a direct competitor of the 390.
In addition to the new one, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is already stable on the market, having proven its efficiency with low prices.
To do well in the market, the Austrian will have to get its values right and fit well between R$ 29.990 and R$ 35.990, charged by Royal Enfield and CFMOTO, respectively.

In addition to the 390 line, KTM confirmed the arrival of the 790 Adventure R in Brazil by the end of 2026. Although the technical details of the national version have not yet been released, the motorcycle will occupy a higher level within the manufacturer’s adventurous range, aimed at long-distance travel and mixed use between asphalt and dirt.
KTM has not yet released the prices of the new 390 Adventure X and 390 Adventure R for the Brazilian market. The 790 Adventure R is scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter of 2026.
