Bajaj announced on Tuesday (9) a change that could redesign the future of KTM in Brazil. The Indian manufacturer will take charge of the Austrian brand’s commercial operations in the country, in addition to Husqvarna, after recently taking control of KTM AG on a global level.

From the new structure, Bajaj do Brasil will be responsible for activities such as sales, marketing, after-sales, parts distribution and development of the dealership network of the two brands. The operation is part of a movement initiated after Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV, a subsidiary of Bajaj Auto Limited, became the majority shareholder of KTM AG, now controlling 76% of the company’s shares.

According to the company, the integration seeks to expand KTM’s presence in the Brazilian market, strengthen the dealership network and improve the service structure offered to customers. The transition will be made gradually, with no immediate changes in the service to brand owners.

This new phase represents more than a change in structure – it is the strengthening of our capacity, as a group, to serve an increasingly wide audience of Brazilian motorcyclists”, said Waldyr Ferreira, Managing Director of Bajaj do Brasil.

Despite the management union, Bajaj, KTM and Husqvarna will continue to operate with their own identities.

National production

One of the main novelties announced during the event is the nationalization of KTM’s production in Brazil. The brand’s motorcycles will be assembled at the Bajaj factory in Manaus (AM), using the Indian manufacturer’s own industrial structure inaugurated in 2024.

The measure should facilitate the expansion of the product line, in addition to contributing to greater availability of parts and agility in the supply of the dealership network.

New KTM bikes for 2026

The new management also confirmed the first KTM launches under Bajaj’s management in Brazil. Among them are the unprecedented KTM 390 Adventure X and KTM 390 Adventure R, expected to hit the Brazilian market next quarter.

For the last quarter of 2026, the arrival of the KTM 790 Adventure is scheduled, expanding the brand’s presence in the segment of medium and high engine motorcycles aimed at tourism and off-road use.

Prices have not yet been disclosed, as well as the final details of power and specifications of the versions intended for the Brazilian market.

Recovery after crisis at KTM

The move comes just over a year after KTM faced one of the biggest crises in its history. In 2025, the Austrian manufacturer went into judicial reorganization, promoted layoffs and even temporarily interrupted part of its production.

During the process, Bajaj gradually expanded its shareholding in the company until it took control of the group. According to information presented during the announcement event, the most recent financial results indicate a recovery in KTM’s financial health.
