Heat, vibration and high consumption: Shineray SBM BH decides to change 250T exhaust after complaints
Action came from a dealership, not Shineray, and reduces ground clearance from 290 mm to about 240 mm

SBM BH, Shineray SBM’s official dealership in the capital of Minas Gerais, announced the free replacement of the SBM 250T exhausts. The action came after a series of consumer complaints involving excessive heat, vibration and high consumption. The action was announced first-hand by Motoo and is a unique initiative of the Belo Horizonte store for models purchased at the unit. Shineray SBM has not yet commented on a national strategy.

Motorcycle exhaust complaints started it all

The SBM 250T arrived at dealerships in April 2026, the result of a partnership between SBM, Shineray’s premium division, and China’s QJ Motor. In the following months, owners published complaints about the model on Reclame Aqui.
The reports published on Reclame Aqui involve performance, consumption, heating and vibration. Also according to Motoo, an owner from Apodi (RN) cited consumption close to 16 km/l, overheating and instability at higher speeds — with the bike still with just over a thousand kilometers on the clock.
Another buyer, from Pouso Alegre (MG), associated heat and vibration with damage to components near the exhaust, including the headlight.
Shineray sends owners to the authorized network

In response to the complaints, the manufacturer advised owners to take the motorcycles to a dealership or authorized assistance for technical evaluation, and informed that it followed up the cases with engineering. In one of the calls, the company stated that the automaker and the network were aware of occurrences presented in some 250T units.
New SBM 250T exhaust promises less heat and noise
According to SBM BH, the revised component was developed to reduce the engine’s lateral heat and noise volume. The replacement is not mandatory: those who prefer can keep the original part.
In contrast to the burden, the change has a relevant side effect for a trail. According to the concessionaire, the minimum ground clearance goes from the original 290 mm to about 240 mm — a loss of approximately 50 mm precisely in the attribute that supports the model’s mixed-use proposal, announced at launch as favorable to off-road.

Part should take up to 60 days
The forecast informed by the store is that the new exhaust will be available within 60 days, with replacement by appointment at the network’s workshops.
Sought, Shineray did not respond
AutoPapo contacted Shineray to find out if the exchange will be extended to other dealerships in the country, but did not receive a response until the publication of this report.
