The Minister of Transport, George Santoro, announced on Tuesday (9) that the CNH do Brasil application will gain new functions from October. The platform will work as a kind of “radar” for free flow tolls: it will allow drivers to monitor and check charges when passing through electronic gantries on federal, state and municipal highways, a system in which there is no gate and the amount is automatically debited. Another novelty will be the complete digitization of the purchase and sale of used vehicles, without face-to-face inspection or notarization.

Cost reduction and automatic license renewal

Launched in December 2025, the CNH do Brasil platform has already reached 60 million users and generated an estimated saving of R$ 2 billion for drivers, according to government data. The program redesigned driver training and reduced costs by up to 80% to obtain categories A and B, through free and digital theoretical study and the direct hiring of autonomous instructors.

The law, sanctioned on June 5, also formalized the automatic renewal of the license for those who have kept the record free of infractions in the last 12 months.

Since its debut, the system has enabled the issuance of 1.33 million new licenses, a number that, according to the ministry, represents the highest volume since 2014. With the changes, the application will allow the full digitization of the purchase and sale of used cars, eliminating face-to-face steps.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the reduction of bureaucracy seeks to expand the formalization of drivers and road safety, making the savings obtained with the reduction of costs return to the consumption of families.
