Xiaomi has confirmed the official launch of the YU7 GT electric SUV for the end of May. Unveiled to the public during the 2026 Beijing Motor Show, the top-of-the-line model impresses by delivering 990 hp, which allows it to reach a top speed of 300 km/h. The news comes at a crucial time for the tech giant, which is looking to reheat its sales after the initial peak in orders for the SU7 sedan, positioning the new car as a high-performance alternative to traditional European sports SUVs. The estimated price ranges from 450,000 to 500,000 yuan (about R$ 319,500 to R$ 355,000).

Classified by the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, as an authentic “pure-blood GT”, the project was designed to combine comfort on long trips with the dynamic behavior of a super sports car. For this, the vehicle had its chassis setup refined in Germany, on the demanding Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. The mechanical assembly is formed by two electric motors: the rear one yields 604 hp, while the front delivers 386 hp. In addition to brute force, the battery system guarantees an estimated range of 705 km, according to the standards of the Chinese CLTC cycle.

To manage the almost 2.5 tons of weight in extreme acceleration, the model received state-of-the-art chassis technologies. The dynamic package includes adaptive air suspension, active stability control and torque vectoring on the rear axle. Braking capacity is in charge of huge carbon-ceramic discs developed by Brembo, integrated with an advanced energy recovery system.

The design of the YU7 GT maintains the aesthetic language of its smaller brother, marked by the waterdrop-shaped headlights, but gains muscle. With 5.01 meters in length and a generous 3 meters of wheelbase, the SUV debuts the eye-catching Cherry Red color. The focus on aerodynamic efficiency is evident in the adoption of frameless rearview mirrors, recessed door handles and an intricate wind passage system with ten channels and 19 outlets. At the rear, a diffuser with large vertical blades and the accentuated spoiler still maximize downforce, gluing the car to the asphalt.
