Radio problem is causing problems in millions of Stellantis reversing cameras
Software failure may prevent the display of the image from the reversing camera; campaign involves 2026 and 2027 models from four brands

Stellantis has recalled more than 955,000 vehicles for a flaw in the radio system’s software that may prevent the reversing camera image from being displayed on the multimedia center screen. The campaign reaches models from the years 2026 and 2027 of the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram brands.
The bulk is in the United States, with 848,511 units. Outside there are about 107 thousand vehicles: 82,869 in Canada, 7,969 in Mexico and another 15,736 spread across markets outside North America.
Jeep is the most affected brand, with eight models on the list: Compass, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer L, Gladiator and Wrangler. Chrysler includes the Pacifica, Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid and Voyager minivans; by Dodge, the Charger; and by Ram, the 1500 and 2500 pickups and the ProMaster and ProMaster EV vans.
The automaker claims to have no record of accidents or injuries linked to the problem. Owners begin to be notified in September, and the correction will be made by remote update of the radio’s software, without the need to go to the dealership: a notification will appear on the screen when the package is available. NHTSA, the United States highway safety agency, has not yet published the technical report on the case.
The second time for the same reason
The episode has a direct precedent. In June 2024, Stellantis recalled nearly 1.2 million vehicles in the United States and Canada for the same root cause: radio software capable of turning off the reversing camera without warning. In that campaign, the models were from 2021 to 2023 and included Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Pacifica, Durango, ProMaster and the Ram pickups.
The standard is not exclusive to the group. Reversing cameras have already motivated more than 180 recalls since 2018, and the defect is rarely in the camera itself: the bottleneck is usually the multimedia center that should project the image. In the United States, the equipment has been mandatory in all new vehicles since May of that year, which makes any failure to display a safety defect subject to recall.
And in Brazil?
So far there is no recall announced in the country. Stellantis did not detail which markets make up the 15,736 vehicles recalled outside North America. It is worth noting that the Jeep Compass on the list is the North American generation, different from the version produced in Goiana, Pernambuco, and sold here.
