Volkswagen is present at the 26th edition of the event with historic models from the Volkswagen Garage, in addition to the new Tiguan and the Golf GTI
Volkswagen will take its collection of classic cars and part of the current line to the 26th edition of the Brazil Classics Show, one of the main antique racing meetings in the country, held from June 3 to 7 in the outdoor area of the Tauá Grande Hotel, in Araxá (MG). The exhibition is open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm.
Among the highlights of the brand’s stand are the very rare Gol BY prototype, developed in the 1980s and discarded before reaching production, the Gol GT Concept and the first Gol in Brazil to receive the black plate — a red example from 1980. Volkswagen will also exhibit the Camouflaged Kombi, used in the launch of the Volkswagen Garage’s social networks, in 2024.

The automaker takes advantage of the fair to sew past and present: next to the relics, it presents models from the current line, such as the new Tiguan and the Golf GTI. The presence at the event also serves to publicize the Volkswagen Classic Vehicle Certificate, a document issued from the factory’s historical records — a collection of about 6.5 million files dating back to the 1950s — and which helps owners and collectors to prove the originality of their cars.
Biennial, the Brazil Classics Show brings together an automobile exhibition, technical evaluations, auction and cultural attractions, with a parade through the streets of Araxá on Friday (5) and awards on Saturday (6). In this edition, the theme pays homage to Italian design, the Mercedes-Benz W107 and the Kombi, which turns 76. As a novelty, the meeting – traditionally restricted to vehicles over 30 years old – makes room for the first time for the “new classics”, manufactured between 1996 and 2006.
