Failure of the intake air temperature sensor can hide engine problems; service starts on June 11
Ford announced on Tuesday (2) a recall for Bronco Sport, Maverick, F-150 and Mustang for failure of the engine’s intake air temperature sensor. The call reaches units produced between the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2025, and the service begins on June 11.
The intake air temperature sensor informs the electronic center how hot the air entering the engine is, essential data for calculating the air-fuel mixture. According to the automaker, the defect can prevent the diagnostic system from reading correctly, and the dashboard warning light may not come on in the face of changes in pollutant gas emission levels – leaving the driver without warning of the problem.
