Pioneer presented at CES 2026 the Sphera, a device that promises to raise the bar for car audio in the aftermarket. It is the world’s first dashboard receiver capable of reproducing Dolby Atmos via Apple CarPlay, allowing vehicles in circulation to receive immersive sound technology — previously restricted to native systems of luxury models.

The equipment seeks to offer a three-dimensional experience without the need for a complete replacement of the original speakers. Using the vehicle’s existing front and rear outputs, Sphera processes the signal to create an immersive sound field, simulating the depth and clarity typical of professional movie theaters.

Acoustic calibration and interface

To circumvent the acoustic variations of each cabin, the system relies on Pure Autotuning technology. The feature performs an automatic calibration of time and frequency response, compensating for interference caused by the panel shape and finishing materials. This fine-tuning ensures that spatial audio is perceived faithfully, regardless of the size of the cabin.

In the visual aspect, the Sphera features a 10.1-inch capacitive HD screen. The interface allows use in split-screen mode and includes the Quick Swipe function, making it easy to control essential functions without compromising the driver’s attention. In addition to connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the receiver has an integrated light bar, which can be synchronized to the rhythm of the music or assist in GPS navigation.

With a universal installation design to facilitate adaptation to several panels, the Pioneer Sphera should reach the North American market in the first half of 2026. The suggested price is US$ 1.300 (about R$ 6.500 in direct conversion).
