Peugeot unveiled the E-5008 Dog Edition Concept, a study created, according to the brand, from the perspective of the dog — the four-legged passenger who increasingly accompanies families on trips. Developed in partnership with Stellantis Design Studio, the concept is based on a question: how does a dog see, feel and experience a car trip? It is a single piece and, according to the manufacturer, it is not scheduled for production.

The starting point, says Peugeot, was a behavioral data. According to a survey by the Ifop institute commissioned by the 30 Millions d’Amis foundation in March 2026, 64% of dog owners intend to travel with their pet on vacation, and more than six out of ten consider this decisive when choosing a destination. The brand also states that more than half of large SUV owners have a dog at home.

Instead of just adding pet accessories to a ready-made car, the designers say they have rethought the interior from the animal’s senses. The cabin gained a palette inspired by canine vision, which combines shades of blue, described as calming, with touches of yellow, considered stimulating. The materials are soft and non-slip.

What’s the accessories?

Among the dedicated items is a modular mattress that accompanies the dog during the journey — in the trunk, in the back seat or outside the car at stops — and becomes a bed at the destination. The Window Headrest, a kind of support on the window, allows the animal to rest its head while observing the landscape. The package also includes a connected collar, dog and owner bags, internal protections, integrated feeders, a toy with Peugeot’s signature and a pet dryer powered by the V2L function, stored under the trunk floor.

The concept also brings software features. The navigation suggests charging points near parks and hiking areas. Dog Guardian Mode maintains cabin temperature, allows remote monitoring, and warns the owner if the dog is left alone for a short period. The Dog Retriever, on the other hand, emits a sound to call a lost dog and facilitates its return to the vehicle.

“It was the first time I had to see the world from a dog’s perspective to design a car,” said Hugo Nightingale, global creative director of Stellantis Design Studio, who describes himself as a dog owner.
