MG Motors is preparing the debut of the MG4 Urban in Brazil for June, marking the brand’s entry into the compact electric hatchback segment. Positioned as an entry-level version of the MG4 line, the model arrives to expand the automaker’s presence in an emerging market in the country.
The vehicle will have different configurations, multiple versions and at least two battery options, seeking to meet varied consumer profiles. The hatch arrives in Brazil clashing head-on with BYD Dolphin and Geely EX2.

The hatch measures 4.39 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 2.75 meters, dimensions in line with those of other compact electric vehicles. Built on the MSP platform, dedicated to electric vehicles, the model prioritizes efficiency and modern architecture.
The international versions use an electric motor with power between 125 hp and 170 hp, with rear-wheel drive, in addition to LFP batteries. Capacities range from 42.8 kWh to 53.9 kWh, with an estimated range of between 300 and 360 km in the WLTP cycle. The specifications for Brazil will still be confirmed closer to launch.

In addition to importing, MG evaluates producing the model locally. Manufacturing is being studied for the second half of 2026, with negotiations involving the Ceará Automotive Complex, although the definition is not yet concluded.
