With all-wheel drive and predictive suspension, the luxury division's model will make its world premiere at the Goodwood Festival, prioritizing Europe before China
Denza, BYD’s luxury division, unveiled the Denza Z hypercar during the 2026 Beijing Motor Show. Initially presented as a concept last year, the convertible model marks an aggressive change in the Chinese automaker’s international strategy. That’s because its official global debut will take place in July, at the traditional Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom, prioritizing the European market even before the start of large-scale sales in China.
Designed by Wolfgang Egger, former head of design at Audi, the convertible mixes sophistication and extreme performance. The model will be part of a high-end line that will also feature hardtop options and an edition aimed exclusively at the tracks. Under the hood, the manufacturer’s engineering focuses on high performance. Equipped with the E3 “Yi Sanfang” all-wheel drive system, the Denza Z delivers more than 1,000 hp. This configuration allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds.

To keep track of this power, the chassis employs a steer-by-wire system and the DiSus-M intelligent suspension. This magnetorheological technology uses predictive sensors to read road conditions and adjust damping instantly. The focus on aerodynamics includes functional air ducts in the hood, which generate negative lift at high speeds, creating what the manufacturer calls “low-to-the-ground flight”. Denza has confirmed that it will test this capability soon, seeking to set times on the iconic Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany.
In the visual aspect, the convertible version shown in Beijing has a fabric roof with automated retraction and capacity for four occupants. The bodywork, highlighted by the exclusive Fiorentine green color — in addition to more than a dozen customizable options — features elongated doors with recessed door handles, large alloy wheels and sports brake calipers. The interior combines digital minimalism, consisting of an integrated instrument panel and floating central screen, with the practicality of physical buttons on the console.
