Moving away from "home appliance design", the French automaker reveals a bold bet on SUVs and sedans made in China that will dictate the future of the brand
Peugeot took advantage of the spotlight at the 2026 Beijing Motor Show to reaffirm its global ambition and present the brand’s new style guideline for the future. During the Chinese event, CEO Alain Favey highlighted that the Asian market is strategic for the electrified transformation of the automaker, which unveiled two unprecedented concept cars created to dictate its design directions in the coming years: the Concept 6 and the Concept 8.

The Peugeot Concept 6 points the direction to the automaker’s new generation of large sedans. The project fuses the refined and aerodynamic silhouette typical of a grand tourer with proportions reminiscent of shooting brake models. The goal, according to the executives, is to evoke the brand’s tradition and bring a “feline attitude” to the design of battery-powered vehicles, prioritizing visual emotion and driving pleasure.
On the other hand, the Peugeot Concept 8 materializes the manufacturer’s vision for the large SUV segment. Described as an essential and pure project, the SUV bets on aerodynamic efficiency combined with a more robust posture on the streets. The promise is dynamic driving and generous cabin space, integrating artificial intelligence and connectivity without technology overshadowing the car’s sporty character.
In addition to the aesthetic language, the launches confirmed an important tactical shift in Stellantis’ production chain. The definitive versions that derive from both concepts will be produced on a large scale at the Wuhan plant in China. Taking advantage of the technical excellence and the platform provided by local partner Dongfeng, Peugeot will use the Asian plant as a global export hub, serving both the Chinese domestic market and international dealers.
This strategy highlights the French automaker’s effort to distance itself from the visual uniformity often criticized in the current generation of electric cars from different competitors, consolidating its visual signature focused on the clarity of lines and dynamism in the era of clean mobility.
