Limited edition bets on discreet finish and hybrid technology; manufacturer plans to expand commemorative line for Corolla Cross in 2026
Toyota kicked off the global celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the Corolla with the launch of special editions for the market. The commemorative series include the sedan and the Corolla Touring station wagon, using the Active Sport configuration as a base. The package focuses on a more sober and sporty aesthetic refinement, preserving the efficiency of the hybrid set that underpins the commercial success of the model.
Unlike variants previously launched in other Asian markets, which displayed bronze-toned details, the Japanese anniversary edition bets on a more discreet palette. The “60th Anniversary” badge was applied to the front fenders and laser-engraved on the synthetic-coated dashboard. The visual set is completed by 17″ alloy wheels finished in gloss black.

Under the hood, the versions maintain the hybrid system with a 1.8-liter aspirated engine, capable of delivering 138 hp, coupled to the CVT transmission. The manufacturer offers options with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (E-Four). Notably, the models with 4×2 traction received specific calibrations in the suspension and steering system, aiming at a more direct response and a driving consistent with the sporty proposal of the series.

In Japan, prices start at ¥ 3,231,800 (about R$ 97 thousand) for the sedan and ¥ 3,282,400 (approximately R$ 99 thousand) for the Touring. Toyota’s anniversary strategy is expected to extend in the coming months with the launch of similar editions for the Corolla Sport (hatchback) and the Corolla Cross SUV. Although rumors point to a new generation in 2027, the current updates reinforce the relevance of the vehicle’s 12th lineage.
