Ceer, Saudi Arabia’s first automotive brand, unveiled its first two series models: the Exobot sedan and the Exobot SUV, both electric. The presentation was made by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, president of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), at the King Abdullah Economic City, home of the factory. Prices were not disclosed.

In the most powerful configuration, the cars use three electric motors that add up to 1,126 hp and 153 kgfm. According to the brand, the sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds and reaches 250 km/h. The SUV does the test in 2.4 seconds and reaches 210 km/h.

Initially, the models will be offered in the limited edition First Edition, with 862 hp and 102 kgfm. In this configuration, the sedan goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, while the SUV does the same in 2.9 seconds. Then will come the Plus version, customizable.

The 112 kWh battery promises a range of 670 km for the sedan and 560 km for the SUV, both by the NEDC cycle, an old and optimistic standard, already replaced in Europe by the WLTP. The 800-volt electrical system allows you to recharge from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes, according to the manufacturer.

Joint venture with Foxconn and BMW

technology Ceer was created in 2022 as a joint venture between PIF, a Saudi sovereign wealth fund, and Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn. BMW has licensed component technology for the brand. The Exobot is the first of seven models planned by 2030, in a range that should include smaller cars and not all of them electric.

The sedan measures 5.26 meters in length, while the SUV is 5.02 meters. Both are 2.10 meters wide, but the heights are different: 1.43 meters in the three-volume and 1.69 meters in the utility, which has a wheelbase of 3.20 meters.

2.4-meter windshield and silver

glass One of the highlights is the 2.4-meter windshield, which visually extends to the hood and is, according to Ceer, the largest ever used in a production car. The upward-opening doors, called Shahin, in reference to the region’s falcon, follow a wide glazed area, which required solutions for the Saudi heat.

The glass has three layers of silver to reduce heat input. According to the company, the air conditioning system lowers the cabin temperature from 65 °C to 32 °C in ten minutes.

Inside, the dashboard features a 48″ curved screen from column to column, as well as a 10.4″ multimedia center and an 8″ one for rear passengers. In place of the conventional steering wheel there is a joystick, connected to a steer-by-wire steering, with no mechanical connection to the wheels. Exterior mirrors have been replaced by cameras.

The technical sheet also includes rear wheel steering, dual-chamber air suspension and torque vectoring. Among the planned features are voice assistant with artificial intelligence, remote updates and level 3 autonomous driving, with point-to-point navigation.
