Brake system problem affects units equipped with track package and can increase the risk of fire in very specific conditions
Aston Martin has announced an unusual recall for the Valkyrie, one of the world’s most exclusive hypercars. The campaign involves only seven of the 275 units produced, all equipped with the package aimed at track use.

The problem is related to a possible deformation of a seal in the brake master cylinder. If this occurs, the fluid may not return properly to the reservoir, maintaining a residual pressure in the system and causing the brakes to remain partially engaged.
According to the manufacturer, the failure can only manifest itself in an extremely specific combination of conditions. For this to happen, the vehicle needs to be on the track, with the most permissive modes of stability control activated — or even turned off — while the driver causes a situation of oversteer at high speed. In this scenario, the electronic stability system must act simultaneously on the front and rear wheels and, at the same time, the brake pedal needs to be pressed hard.
If this sequence occurs, the brakes may remain slightly engaged, raising the temperature of the discs. In extreme cases, the heat generated can hit components of the cooling system made of carbon fiber and cause a fire to start.
Aston Martin says that the possibility of reproducing the problem on public roads is practically non-existent and informed that the affected units are already being repaired.
