Mercedes-Benz has delivered the first 27 units of the eActros 600 electric truck to Amazon in Germany, in a milestone that kicks off the German leg of the retailer’s largest ever order for battery-powered heavy-duty vehicles. The two companies expect to have more than 50 units on German roads by the end of 2026.
The batch is part of a contract signed in early 2025 that provides for more than 200 units of the eActros 600, the largest order for electric trucks in the history of Amazon and also the German manufacturer. About 140 of these vehicles were destined for the United Kingdom, where deliveries began at the end of 2025.

Operation between distribution centers and cities
The trucks will operate mainly in transport between distribution centers and urban regions, a stage that the sector calls the middle mile. With three lithium iron phosphate battery packs totaling 621 kWh, the eActros 600 has a declared range of 500 km without intermediate recharging, with 40 tons of gross combined weight. The model was elected the International Truck of the Year 2025.
In tests conducted by Mercedes-Benz in Europe, including a round in winter conditions in the north of the continent, the truck recorded consumption close to 1 kWh/km. The figure, obtained with an average combined weight of 36 tons, is close to the theoretical projections released for the Tesla Semi.
To sustain the expansion of the fleet, Amazon is installing hundreds of direct current fast chargers in Europe. According to the company, the structure allows the battery charge to be raised from 20% to 80% in just over an hour.
European contribution exceeds €1 billion
Amazon’s investment in electrification and emissions reduction on the continent exceeds €1 billion (about R$ 5.95 billion), of which more than €400 million (approximately R$ 2.38 billion) goes to operations in Germany.
An analysis by the consultancy Frontier Economics commissioned by the company estimates that the investments supported more than 35 thousand jobs and may represent a contribution of up to € 3 billion (something like R$ 17.85 billion) to the German economy.
Andreas Marschner, Amazon’s vice president of Sustainable Operations, called the delivery a milestone in the electrification of the company’s transportation network and said the technology, already widespread in the final stage of deliveries, now reaches longer routes.
For Stina Fagerman, President of the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Customer Region Europe, the choice of Amazon demonstrates confidence in the brand’s technology and shows that the electrification of heavy-duty transport is no longer a promise.
In Brazil, the eActros 600 is not yet sold. Mercedes-Benz do Brasil has been running a test operation since 2024 with the first-generation eActros 300 and 400 versions in fleets of customers such as Suzano, Braspress and Expresso Nepomuceno, in addition to using the model in the internal logistics of the São Bernardo do Campo plant.
